Gibson County Deputies responded to a call about a man walking in and out of traffic on State Road 64 Sunday night.
Deputies arrived on the scene and identified the man as 56-year-old Edward Cook Sr. of Francisco.
While speaking with Cook he stated that he had been battered at his residence.
After an investigation, it was determined that Cook was the aggressor in the incident.
He was arrested and transported to the Gibson County Jail and charged with criminal confinement and public intoxication.
