Hundreds showed up for both CenterPoint rate hike forum sessions that ran fairly long.
Many of them spoke and testified to the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission.
None of the attendees spoke in favor of the rate hike.
One speaker asked why those costs need to be paid by customers while their CEO Jason Wells made over $30 million last year.
Another speaker cited having to choose between keeping the lights on and eating.
Mayor Stephanie Terry also weighed in stating that a rate increase will affect quality of life and hinder economic growth.
