A medication that normally costs around 50 dollars at the pharmacy is now free.
St. Vincent in Evansville and Warrick County has opioid rescue kits available at six of their locations.
The goal is to make Narcan more accessible in hopes that people will be more comfortable having it around.
The Indiana Department of Health reported over 1,500 overdose deaths last year and close to 10,000 emergency room visits.
Vanderburgh County accounted for 36 of those deaths.
Narcan boxes are available at these locations.
