Evansville area animal shelters are calling on Governor Eric Holcomb to veto House Bill 1412 also known as the “Puppy Mill Bill”.
VHS Development and Public Relations Coordinator Laurie Miller says “It’s a mill just churning out puppies.”
“When the mother can’t have puppies anymore she is discarded.”
It Takes A Village and VHS will have a special adoption event on Saturday from noon to 6 PM to raise awareness against the bill.
Pets will have an adoption fee of only $14.12 like the bill’s name.
