In support of the ongoing development of the I-69 project, Henderson Water Utility (HWU) announces a scheduled water service interruption for North Middle School and Franklin Avenue in Henderson, KY, on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. Henderson Water Utility will shut off the water supply to the affected area beginning at 5:00 PM. The interruption is expected to last for approximately four hours.
Following the completion of the service interruption, residents and businesses in the affected area are advised that a boil water advisory will be in effect for the subsequent 24 to 48 hours. This advisory is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety and quality of the water supply during the transition period.
- Use bottled or boiled water for drinking and to prepare and cook food.
- If bottled water is not available, bring water to a full rolling boil for one minute. After boiling, allow the water to cool before use.
- Boil tap water even if it is filtered (for example, by a home water filter or a pitcher that filters water).
- Do not use water from any appliance connected to your water line, such as ice and water from a refrigerator.
HWU acknowledges the inconvenience that this temporary disruption may cause and appreciates the cooperation and understanding of the affected community members as essential infrastructure enhancements are carried out in support of the I-69 project.
