An Indiana State Trooper was patrolling I-69 in Grant County around 2:00 Saturday morning when he spotted a semi-truck and trailer engulfed in flames.
The trailer was loaded with animals from the Shrine Circus.
Troopers entered the trailer and were able to rescue five zebras, four camels, and a miniature horse.
Additional officers on the scene were able to secure all the animals until other trucks from the Shrine Circus arrived.
A Trooper and Deputy were treated for smoke inhalation.
The driver and all the animals were uninjured.
