An Indiana State Trooper is in serious condition after being hit by a drunk driver while assisting a stranded motorist change a flat tire.
It happened in Indianapolis on I-65 near 30th Street Saturday night.
As Trooper Azariah Keith was putting away his equipment, a Chevy Equinox driven by 22-year-old Armaandeep Singh was approaching the scene in the left lane at a high rate of speed.
Singh swerved around a trooper who was blocking the left lane, lost control, and crashed into a concrete median barrier striking Trooper Keith.
The Southbound lanes of I-65 were closed for nearly three hours while the scene was being processed.
