Emergency crews responded to a water rescue Thursday morning on Woodbridge Drive in Evansville.
Once on scene firefighters “gandered” at the situation and spotted a goose believed frozen in the pond.
The goose was several feet from the bank.
The rescue team had to crawl out on the ice and use a net.
As it turns out, he was not frozen in the pond but suffered from a broken leg.
The goose was taken to animal control.
“Fowl” play is not suspected.
