Even more counterfeit money is being passed in Evansville. Police have 30 new reports of phony $20 bills from local businesses; that’s a dozen more than last week. Even under a trained eye, the fake bills are hard to spot. The fakes aren’t exposed by counterfeit detection pens. EPD Sergeant Anna Gray says the same two men may be the culprits. They arrive on foot and buy something cheap, paying with the fake bills and getting as much of the real stuff as they can. Earlier this week the pair loaded $180 onto their cash app with funny money.
