After a month-long investigation deputies with the Posey County Sheriff’s Office served a warrant at 1500 Upper Upton Road in Mt. Vernon.
Upon entry, a semi-automatic-style rifle was in view as well as a 9mm handgun.
Also located was narcotics.
31-year-old Cody Schmitt was arrested and is classified as a serious felon and is currently on parole.
He is facing several charges including possession of meth and criminal recklessness.
Schmitt was booked into the Posey County Jail on a $25,000 cash bond.
