The Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign received a special blessing on Tuesday.
Captain Brandon Lewis was approached by an individual who wanted to donate.
The man handed Lewis a gold Krugerrand.
He explained that he wanted others to be blessed by the Salvation Army the same way he had been earlier in life.
A krugerrand is worth more than $2,000.
All funds raised through the Red Kettle Campaign fund local programs yearly.
It helps families with hunger relief, rent assistance, mentorship programs, and youth center services.
