Evansville police responded in force to a call of an active shooter situation at Memorial High School shortly before nine o’clock this morning.
Police chief Billy Bolan says the caller gave a specific room number, which, as it turns out, does not exist.
Officers responded in force, and conducted a floor by floor search carrying heavy weapons, but found nothing.
Police believe the active shooter threat was unfounded, and that there is no threat to students, staff or the public.
