The Indiana Department of Health encourages Hoosiers to get vaccinated against the flu after confirming the first two deaths this season.
The CDC recommends everyone aged 6 months and older get a flu vaccine each year.
People who have chronic illnesses, weakened immune systems, and the elderly are most at risk for complications from the flu.
Common signs and symptoms include fever of 100 or higher, cough, sore throat, headache, fatigue, muscle aches, and runny or stuffy nose.
