The Vanderburgh County Area Planning Committee voted Thursday to recommend the denial of a rezoning ordinance for a new Loves Truck Stop.
The new Loves would be at Old Highway 57 and I-69 in the northern part of the county.
Residents whose property is immediately adjacent to the proposed truck stop argue that potential traffic, light pollution, noise, and obstruction of their view would be detrimental to their quality of life.
The A-P-C voted 7-3 to recommend the denial of the rezoning to the county commissioners who meet on December 5.

What’s detrimental to life is NOT having the food and supplies that we use daily, that are delivered by these hard working truck drivers. They have to deal with idiots cutting them off daily, pulling in front of them at a get on ramp, driving 35 miles an hour and the semi is going the speed limit of 65. As they are told to stay out of the left lane. Then people wonder why they get ran over. Now there is a severe shortage of truck stop parking all over the USA, rest areas are shut down. So there’s no place for them to eat, sleep and do their business but you still want your supplies in a timely manner! Think again and please show some respect to these drivers while you are sitting at home eating dinner with your family every night, meanwhile the trucker is spending his log book time trying to find a place to park before he goes into the red zone and can get a ticket from the DOT! Those tickets aren’t cheap! Give these drivers a break, literally give them a place to take a break! Please and thank you. God Bless 🇺🇸 America 🚚 Truck Drivers and Farmers🚜 who provide for us!❤️
