A woman displaying a gun was shot dead by an Evansville Police Officer Wednesday night.
This was the same female that was involved in an earlier incident on Cross Street.
The EPD officer encountered the woman on S. Evans Avenue and ordered her to drop the gun, which she ignored.
The officer discharged his duty weapon.
The female was shot and fell to the ground on top of the gun.
An EPD K9 was used to separate the female from the gun so officers could approach her to render first aid.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
