Evansville Police have made an arrest in the murder investigation that happened on Mt. Vernon Avenue last Sunday.
30-year-old Richard Garrett is being charged in the double murder of Michael Blankenship and Mitchell Greathouse.
He told police that he was the getaway driver.
Garrett says he heard several gunshots after the passenger went inside the home.
He ran out and came back to the car covered in blood.
Garrett originally thought they were committing a robbery, not a murder.
In 2021 Garrett killed a man during an altercation.
It was ruled self-defense.
Police say at least two other people are involved.
Their names have not been released at this time.
