An Evansville mother was arrested and her child was removed from the home.
Police were called to the Olive Street home because someone reported hearing a child yell, “Let go” several times.
When officers arrived they found three adults, one who appeared impaired and passed out, and a very dirty child.
There was rotten food and garbage all over the home, and cockroaches and flies everywhere.
Inside a bedroom, several syringes loaded with fentanyl were on a shelf.
Jessica Ferguson, the child’s mother told officers that she cleaned every day, but other people made it messy.
