A Mt. Vernon man was given the maximum sentence in court yesterday.
49-year-old Jason Overton was found guilty of Operating a motor vehicle after forfeiture of license for life, possession of a syringe, paraphernalia, and meth.
In January of this year, Overton was stopped because the vehicle he was driving had a false license plate.
He was found to have over 5 grams of meth in his possession.
Overton will be transported to the Indiana Department of Correction to serve his sentence.
