The name of the suspect shot and killed earlier this week in Ohio County has been identified.
Deputies arrived at the 700 block of Dan Road, in Horse Branch, at about 7:00 pm on Monday.
They found Horse Branch resident David Sandifur running into some woods with a shotgun.
Deputy Kelsey Embry was staged on the other side of the woods.
Sandifur confronted her and she fired at him, hitting him multiple times.
Sandifur was flown to a Nashville hospital where he died.
Embry was not injured.
