The temperatures will be turned up for the next couple of days with heat index values of 108 to 113.
This can be dangerous for those that will be outdoors, so take extra precautions.
When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing and stay hydrated.
Watch for signs of heat stroke such as a temperature of 104 or higher, confusion, nausea or vomiting, and rapid breathing.
The CK Newsome Center is a cooling station and will be open during business hours.
The excessive warning will be in effect thru Friday night.
