Starting this school year, all Daviess County, Kentucky elementary school students will receive free breakfast and lunch.
This is meant to promote student well-being, enhance student nutrition, and support success.
It will also alleviate financial strain for families and reduce any stigma associated with receiving free or reduced-price meals.
The district plans to evaluate the program’s effectiveness and explore future expansion opportunities to include middle and high schools.
