The Soil and Water Districts of Posey, Gibson, Warrick, and Vanderburgh County are giving away free wildflowers and native plant seeds.
This is due to the decline in pollinator populations.
District technician Megan Ritterskamp says the important pollinators are in danger and it’s hyper-alarming.
Over the last 20 years, almost three-quarters of flying insect populations have disappeared.
You can help in a small way such as having a potted flower on your apartment balcony to having acres of land and being compensated.
For free seeds stop by your county Soil and Water Department.
