DNA evidence was used to track down the suspect accused of breaking into a woman’s home just days after she passed.
EPD officers were called to the 6600 block of E. Cherry Street last November.
That’s when the daughter of the deceased woman, found the home had been ransacked.
Blood samples and a smoked cigarette were collected at the scene.
The DNA led police to 41 year old April Eddmenson.
Jewelry, a wheelchair and possibly a firearm were found missing from the home.
Eddmenson admitted that she broke into the house and is now in the Vanderburgh County Jail.
