Thursday’s storms caused significant widespread damage to Center Point Energy’s electric system in southwestern Indiana.
So far over 6,000 customers are without power.
Crews worked overnight to continue to restore power to those still in the dark this morning.
Center Point wants to remind customers to stay at least 35 feet away from downed power lines and treat them as if they are energized.
If you smell natural gas, get to a safe area and call 9-1-1.
There is another chance for strong storms today.
