Coroner Sees Rise In Overdoses Of A Different Kind

It’s 1,000 times more potent than morphine and 100 times more potent than fentanyl.

Vanderburgh County Coroner Steve Lockyear says at least two people have overdosed and died from it in the last month.

He’s talking about Carfentanil, a tranquilizer used to put down elephants, but this opioid doesn’t give second chances to humans.

First responders and local hospitals have also reported recent increases in overdoses that are likely related to the drug.
