Officers with the Evansville Police Department responded to 1250 Madison Avenue around 6:15 Monday Afternoon to assist with serving a felony warrant.
46 year old Quinyatte Harrell refused to come out of his home for two hours causing a standoff.
An Adult Investigation Unit was called after Harrell told dispatch he had hostages.
That report was determined unfounded, so were the allegations that he had firearms and illegal narcotics.
He was transported to the Vanderburgh County Jail on charges of a sex offender registration violation.
