Pigeon Township Trustee Mariama Wilson has offered to resign.
She made that offer to the township board nearly a year after an investigation by the FBI and Evansville police began.
In April of this year federal, state and local authorities unsealed an indictment against Wilson, 49 year old William Payne, and 32 year old Terrance Hardiman.
The indictment concerned a kickback scheme involving thousands of dollars.
In a statement the Board said Wilson’s resignation, which will be simpler than the removal process, will be effective June 30.
