Indiana Department of Transportation Commissioner Mike Smith was joined by industry partners to break ground on the new Black River Welcome Center yesterday.
The $39.9 million project is located near MM 7 on eastbound I-64 in Posey County.
The new facility will give visitors a place to rest and recharge and learn more about the local history in southern Indiana.
The project will included a children’s play area, a walking path and a dog park.
The new facility is scheduled to open in 2025.
