A smoke detector most likely saved the life of a resident, alerting them that their house was on fire.
Wednesday morning just after midnight firefighters responded to the 100 block of East Mill Road.
The home owner attempted to put out the fire then called 9-1-1.
The fire was minor and was extinguished in about 15 minutes.
Investigators have determined the fire as accidental, caused by a damaged electrical extension cord.
This is the second fire in a week where a smoke detector alerted the occupants early enough to escape unharmed.
