An Evansville woman is in the Vanderburgh County Jail on charges of arson resulting in serious bodily injury and three counts of animal cruelty.
Earlier this month, 42 year old Amanda Deckard called 9-1-1 to report that she started a fire in her E. Iowa home.
When firefighters arrived Deckard was sitting on the front porch with cuts to her arms.
Several lizards were found beaten to death.
Two other homes were damaged by the fire and a firefighter received minor injuries.
Deckard’s bond is set at $10,000.
