The suspect shot Tuesday by Evansville police will face attempted murder charges.
EPD identified the suspect as 35-year-old Kody Schaum of Boonville.
His mother says he’s in critical condition in the ICU, and if he makes it, he will need more surgeries.
Failure to appear in criminal cases in both Warrick and Vanderburgh county prompted his arrest warrant.
Police spotted him while patrolling on Tuesday.
Shaum reportedly reached in his car for a gun resulting in several rounds being fired at the suspect.
When Schaum is released, he will face charges including Attempted Murder, Resisting Law Enforcement, and Possession of a Handgun by a Serious Violent Felon.
