Saturday was National Take Back Day throughout the Hoosier state.
Indiana State Police joined with the Drug Enforcement Administration at the Evansville post where they received around 600 pounds of prescription drugs.
The purpose of the event was to help people get rid of their expired or unwanted prescriptions.
Disposing of them safely prevented the possibility of misuse.
Take Back Day is twice a year held in April and October.
