An Evansville man is in jail without bond after allegedly hitting a bicyclist and then leaving the scene.
It happened about 8:30 last night near Boeke Road and Sweetser Avenue.
Arriving police found a victim lying in the road.
The man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, and later died.
Witnesses said a driver got out of a blue pickup truck and tried to help the victim, but then drove off.
Further investigation led officers to the home of 37 year old Scott Lane.
He reportedly asked if their call was about the bicyclist.
Officers smelled alcohol on Lane and arrested him on multiple charges.
