There’s a phone scam going around and Evansville police want you to know about it.
The scammer calls from what appears to be the EPD Administration Office.
When the mark answers the phone or calls back a man claims to be with the police department.
The scammer then proceeds to tell the person they have jury duty, a warrant for their arrest or owe money, and they need to pay up.
EPD is asking those who’ve fallen victim to one of these scams to give them a call.
