The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a dead body found in Oakland City just of South State Road 57 on Monday.
The body of a female was found around 3:30 behind the Diplomat Motel in a wooded area.
Residents at the motel were interviewed by Indiana State Police.
The FBI and Oakland City Police are helping with the investigation.
Officials are still working to find the cause of death and if foul play was a factor.
