The Evansville Fire Department was called to the 800 block of E. Gum Street Saturday night for a possible house fire.
First arriving crews reported fire at the back of the house.
The fire started by discarded trash that had been burned and left unattended on the back porch.
The fire extended into the kitchen and attic space.
There is smoke damage throughout the home.
The American Red Cross is helping the displaced family members.
The fire was determined accidental.
No injuries were reported.
