The Evansville Vanderburgh County Joint Drug Task Force attempted to pull a woman over for expired plates between Stockwell and Boeke Roads Thursday morning.
Instead of stopping, she led police on a chase down the Lloyd Expressway.
After traveling a short distance, the vehicle exited the Lloyd via the Willow Street exit and continued west on Division Street.
The driver lost control, left the roadway striking a pedestrian overpass on Harlan Avenue.
She died at the scene.
The woman was driving on a suspended driver’s license and had two active misdemeanor warrants for her arrest.
The name of the driver will be released later today.
