A woman convicted last month of murder, rape and confinement is headed to prison for 65 years.
That’s the sentence handed down Thursday for Heidi Carter.
The prosecution claimed a couple she met online agreed to meet, and was then beaten by Carter’s boyfriend Cary Hammond.
Hammond then raped the woman and killed Timothy Ivy before he was killed by police.
Carter received the maximum sentence on each count with all sentences to be served at the same time.
A jury deliberated 10 hours before returning guilty verdicts.
