An Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library employee was assaulted just after 3:00 Wednesday afternoon.
33 Year old Zachary New of Henderson was seen on surveillance video pepper spraying the employee in the face.
When officers arrived to Central Library they found a can of the spray in New’s possession.
The librarian had red and teary eyes from the incident.
New is lodged in the Vanderburgh County Jail.
