Southwest Indiana has a high infant mortality rate.
Between 2011 and 2015, 180 babies died before their first birthday in Vanderburgh County.
The “Pre to 3” program was designed by the Vanderburgh County Health Department to help in reducing those numbers.
This free program provides weekly home visits starting with pregnancy until the child’s third birthday.
Pre to 3 teaches a wide range of skills, including coping strategies for stress, communication methods and developmental milestones.
