Man Found Unresponsive Inside Restroom of Downtown Bar

Officers were called just before 1:00 Saturday morning to the Tiki on Main.

The bar owner told police that a man had been in the bathroom for almost an hour.

The owner had him sitting up against the wall by the time officers arrived.

He was identified as 38 year old Phillip Smith.

While looking for ID, EPD found a syringe with fluid inside, meth, fentanyl and Oxycodone in a zipped beer cozy on a lanyard around his neck.

Smith was showing signs of a drug overdose upon being assessed by first responders, so Narcan was administered.

He was medically cleared and taken to jail.
