Owensboro City leaders say the pedestrian hit and killed Wednesday morning was Street Maintenance Crew Leader, Billy Tyler.
He was removing debris from the roadway when he was hit.
The intersection of East Parrish Ave and Bluff Avenue to East Parrish Ave and Leitchfield Road was closed while crews reconstructed the crash.
The 46-year-old from Utica was heavily involved in area baseball organizations.
Flags have been lowered in Owensboro in honor of Tyler.
