The Vanderburgh County election board votes to remove two candidates from the Evansville mayor’s race.
Republican Caine Helmer and Democrat Brian Alexander were removed because they didn’t meet the requirement of having voted in the last two primaries.
The action leaves just three in the race for mayor with Stephanie Terry the lone Democrat still on the ballot.
Cheryl Musgrave and Natalie Rascher will face off in a Republican primary.
Libertarian Michael Daugherty has plans to run, but did not file before the deadline earlier this month.
He claims he has to wait until after the Libertarian Convention in March before he can file.
