Federal agents and Owensboro police have arrested nine people locally in what’s described as a large scale meth ring. Two people in Florida and one person in Georgia were also arrested in connection with this case. The large scale investigation began several months ago. A significant amount of drugs — meth, fentanyl, and cocaine — were confiscated during the investigation. A federal grand jury in Bowling Green returned a two-count indictment on February 15, charging the 12 with conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute over 500 grams of meth.
The indictment shows the following 12 suspects being charged:
34-year-old Chance Morton, 38-year-old Desmond Morton, 36-year-old Morgan Anderson, 49-year-old William Simmons, 55-year-old Johnny Albury, 64-year-old Ellis Parker … of Owensboro, Kentucky
38-year-old Nicholas Stallings of Forest Park, Georgia
55-year-old Willie Mosley of Hagerstown, Maryland
44-year-old Charles Hudson of Vero Beach, Florida
39-year-old Lindsay R. Harper and 52-year-old George James … both of Hawesville, Kentucky … and …
36-year-old Brian Ray of Philpot, Kentucky
All 12 people appear in court Thursday, February 23. If convicted, all face a mandatory minimum of 10 years and a maximum sentence of life in prison.
