Police stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Georgia Street and Fourth Avenue on Monday.
While being place under arrest the suspect tried to over power the officer by reaching for his taser.
During a struggle the weapon discharged striking the officer.
43 year old Robert Medlock fled on foot, and forced his way into a detached garage occupied by three individuals.
Medlock armed himself with an axe, not letting anyone in or out.
Once officers gained entry, Medlock was cuffed and searched.
Meth was found on the suspect, and it was discovered he had active warrants.
Two EPD officers sustained injuries.
