Evansville native and former New York Yankee Don Mattingly will be the advisor for the Nashville Stars baseball team.
Mattingly’s role with the organization is to provide council on key strategic matters.
He will also work to gain support in bringing a Major league Baseball franchise to the Music City.
The goal is to make this the first MLB franchise to have majority black ownership.
Mattingly spent one year playing for the Nashville Sounds in 1981.
Back then it was a Double-A-affiliate of the Yankees.
Mr. Baseball will start his first season as bench coach for the Toronto Blue Jays this season.
