The Indiana Department of Transportation announced that 229 Indiana cities, towns and counties received a combined $119.4 million in state matching funds.
The money will go toward local road projects through Community Crossings, a component of the Governor’s Next Level Roads program.
The city of Evansville and Vanderburgh county were awarded a combined $1.6 million in matching grants.
Since 2016, the state has awarded over $1 billion in state funds to support local road and bridge projects throughout the state.
