Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear made the announcement on Monday that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has extended the REAL ID Act enforcement.
The new date is May 7, 2025 replaces the previous date of May 3, 2023.
The grace period will help residents still recovering from back to back natural disasters replace needed documents.
As of now, the deadline of May 3, 2023 is still in effect for Indiana residents.
Without this people 18 and older will not be able to pass security check points in airports, military bases or federal buildings.
