The Evansville Police Department released the name of the man accused of shooting and killing a woman Sunday morning on Clayton Avenue.
44 year old Clifton Fletcher was arrested overnight.
The victim was on the phone with a friend during the incident.
She said that Fletcher was following her.
Fletcher fled the area before police arrived.
The woman died on scene.
The victim and the suspect knew each other through a relationship.
Fletcher is in the Vanderburgh County jail charged with murder.
