Every year, 104.1 WIKY sets out with a simple goal. Collect one ton of frozen turkeys for the Tri State Food Bank, so as many folks as possible in our area can have a great Thanksgiving dinner. And thanks to the generosity of WIKY listeners, and a $10,000 donation match from LyondellBasell, that goal was blown out of the water this year. A total of 5.86 tons of turkeys were donated, as well as an additional 2 tons of other food items, to bring the total poundage raised for “Ton of Turkeys” to 7.8 tons of food.
We also want to give a special “thank you” to Robert John & Associates, for once again being our partner for the Ton of Turkeys drive.
